Cookies and trackers we use
Names may change as providers update their products; this page is updated whenever they do.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ic_consent_v1 | Illucrum (first party) | Remembers your cookie preferences | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes visitors and sessions; aggregates usage | Analytics | Up to 13 months |
| _gcl_* | Google Ads | Measures conversions from Google Ads campaigns | Advertising | Up to 90 days |
| _rdt_uuid | Reddit Pixel | Measures conversions from Reddit Ads campaigns | Advertising | Up to 90 days |
| GTM containers | Google Tag Manager | Loads and gates the trackers above based on your consent | Strictly necessary (loader) and conditional | Session |
Google Tag Manager itself does not set tracking cookies; it manages whether the analytics and advertising tags fire, based on your Consent Mode v2 signal.
How to manage cookies
Three ways to change what is loaded.
-
01
The banner
First-time visitors see a banner. Click "Manage cookies" in the footer of any page to reopen it. Your choice is stored for 12 months; after that we will ask again.
-
02
Browser controls
Every modern browser lets you delete cookies and block them by default. Look for "Privacy" or "Site settings". This affects every site, not just ours.
-
03
Provider opt-outs
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing the official browser add-on. You can manage Reddit Ads personalisation in your Reddit account settings. Browser-level signals like Global Privacy Control are honoured automatically.
Rejecting analytics and advertising cookies does not stop you from using the site. It only prevents non-essential measurement from running.
